Turning Tide is a retail trading research terminal built by traders, for traders.
Most of the data that actually moves prices is already public — SEC EDGAR full-text filings, FRED economic series, FINRA short sale data, Treasury yield curves — but no consumer platform surfaces it the way an analyst would. Turning Tide aggregates those feeds and organizes them into a single terminal you can use in under an hour.
Every chart cites its source. Every number traces back to the original regulatory release. If a data point comes from a modeled estimate rather than a primary feed, we say so. The typical retail platform buries that distinction; Turning Tide is built around it.
Professional terminals cost more per month than most retail traders make in a quarter. Turning Tide is built for the retail trader who's serious enough to want primary-source depth without the institutional price tag — or the licensing wall that comes with it.
"Primary-source depth, plain-English explanation. Built for retail."
That's the gap that doesn't get talked about. The data is technically available. EDGAR is public. FRED is free. FINRA publishes short interest twice a month. But the tools designed around those feeds were built for analysts who already spent years learning to read them — not for someone trying to figure out whether a short squeeze setup has legs before the open.
Turning Tide pairs the same primary-source depth with a built-in education layer. Not tooltips that say "ratio of X to Y." Actual context: what the number means in a trending market versus a mean-reverting one, and why it matters for the setup you're looking at. The learning curve is hours, not months.
We built this because we got tired of toggling between five browser tabs, a TradingView chart, and a Reddit thread trying to triangulate a single conviction read. A terminal should do the triangulation. The trader should make the call.
Turning Tide is an independent research terminal — not a broker-dealer, not a registered investment adviser, not a financial planner. No one pays us to surface their product or push a particular security. The analysis is ours; the trades are yours.
